I have a 2001 LV09 with the factory Fishman UST.  It is not bad, especially if you run a good pre-amp (ultrasound or baggs PDI for example).  The K&K (which I have in my 12 string) is a bit hotter and more natural sounding, but I would not replace the fishman unless it really does not suit your playing style and you gig a lot.  The fishman has a consistent signal with lots of headroom, but as with all UST, it has a lot of attack (or "quack" as some call it).  The K&K alleviates quack, but you do lose some snap and dynamic that I find nice in a pickup like the fishman.

Hope that helps.

Fishman undersaddle is okay. In my view, no undersaddle really cuts it. Too much sound of the wood is lost and there's a tight "in your face" impact of the strings. It does seem to reduce feedback, though.
Another cheap alternative is a good dynamic mic, although it restricts your movement while performing on stage.

K & K? My favorite piezo! They sound great and really deliver the distinct sound of the wood in your guitars. Also, you can afford the darn hings without going broke!
I bought a Baggs belt-clip preamp recently with the plan to stop installing battery and preamp systems in guitars and let the outboard preamp do the boosting and control the tone settings. This may be the best way to go. K & K are Karla and Dieter in Coos Bay, Oregon. They are very friendly and helpful about any email questions, too.
If I were you I'd add in a Pure Western and use the K & K blender to mix them to my taste.

Oh, there's a great demo page of pickups at http://www.dougyoungguitar.com/pickuptest.htm

I didn't like mine at all, it didn't let my guitar shine the way it's supposed to. I switched to a dual source pickup. I did try this- http://www.fishman.com/products/details.asp?id=83 (http://www.fishman.com/products/details.asp?id=83)

It would have been a great upgrade, but it didn't work with my guitar's bracing. I don't know about the C-9. You could give it a shot. It would add HUGE depth to your guitar's plugged in sound.
