I polished my guitar now I have some questions. Will the smell go away? Will I have to repolish it over time? Can I use regular guitar polish on it now?

Read 27(now 57) times and nobody has any advice?
Sounds like you have 27 folks waiting for the answer. I'd like to get rid of the smell in mine, too.
Dan
I have not done anything to mine after I polished them other than run a dry microfiber cloth over them. They don't stink (or at least I can't smell them -- reminds me of an old joke). A slightly dampened cloth is all you really need. Unless you really glossed them up like whiskeyjack, there shouldn't be much of an issue of fingerprints. If there is, the dampened cloth should take care of it. If not, a good guitar polish without silicones such as final note, virtuoso, or Petros could be sparingly used.
Smell? What did you use? Did you make your satin finish glossy?
Yes, very glossy. I used meguiars scratch x and the crystal step 1 and 2. The smell is from these abrasives. It has gone away some.

Smells like it did out of the box again. Is there any other maintenance for the polished finishes?
