For years I have heard about Larrivee's, but never played on si -_-nce I thought Taylor was the only acoustic that I would ever want. Recently, I wanted a different sound other than a Taylor and my local dealer said to try out the Larrivee's...and I was glad I did. Great sound, great playing and a great value.
I just picked up the OM-05 that my local dealer ordered. When I first opened the case, I was stunned at how beautiful the guitar looked...the craftsmanship is outstanding. Next
the dealer adjusted the neck, tuned the guitar and then handed it to me. WOW, WOW, WOW - what a guitar. The sound huge, balanced and warm with crisp tone. I was a little worried about the 1 3/4 neck, but it is easy to play and better for fingerstyles than my Taylor 214 that I sold.
I want to thank everyone in this forum for their advice, insight and support
I am now a proud member of the Larry Club. -_-
Congrats Blaster, welcome to the larrivee family the OM-05 is a great guitar. Larrivee does mahogany right(you will hear that a lot around here). Taylor builds a nice guitar but Larrivee's are equally as good and much better value. Careful though if you spend too much time on this forum your gonna end up with more than one larrivee
Welcome to the Larrivee forum and family, this is a great place!
Hey, Blaster
Congratulations! Got my first Larrivee recently and totally understand how you feel.
BTW, the BLASTERS is one of my all time favorite bands. And Blasters founding member Dave Alvin has been doing some terrific solo work. Saw him live recently, and wow, what a show it was.
But back to the point, love that OM. What nice guitars Larrivee makes!

Welcome to the Larrivee family! Larrivee opens up all kinds of tonal properties that are a treat to one's ears. You won't find a better value on the market out there!

I spent the entire night playing the OM-05. One thing I need to change is the action, but the guitar tech told me to hold off for a while until the guitar "settles out". Overall, the sound is well balanced, crisp and defined. The low E string is the only string which doesn't project as well as the others, but may change after the guitar "opens up". Overall, it's well built and fun to play
Hope this is the first of many for you. I agree with your tech on setup, if it is playable hang in there until the guitar gets acclimated to its new surroundings. Now is also a good time to experiment with strings to get the sound you want. Once I find the strings I want then I go for my final setup. The fact I live around the corner from the Larrivee factory keeps that new acclimation process pretty quick and the weather conditions where they are built and me are the same.
oh yeah welcome to the club, Larrivee's truly acoustic.
Congrats, Blaster, and welcome to the family. My Larry OM is my go-to guitar. Ain't they great?
Congrats on a nice guitar! I love the mahogany 05's! My D-05 just gets better and better.
