Hey Folks!
I had my larrivee stolen from me, wanted to make sure none of you get taken in and buy it. You may remember it from the auction here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280007036094
The guy won it with a stolen ebay account, payed with a stolen paypal account, then reversed the charges on me as soon as I delivered it to him.
So, that said, it's an SD-60, with an LR Baggs iMix pickup. The guy's in the Houston area, but he'll probably try and sell it outside of here. It has a very distinctive grain pattern on the back, and I have the serial number on file with the police. The grain pattern can't be missed, though - even if he tries to tamper with the serial number.
I've taken just about every action available to me, now I just want to make sure he doesn't try to move it on an internet classified.
If you see anything funny, drop me an email at mr_couvy@hotmail.com
Thanks!
Ryan
I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. Hopefully they'll be able to track this guy down. Was the address confirmed in PayPal?
Doesn't paypal cover fraudulant sales like this??
You better hope he's not a guitar player, otherwise he's probably gonna fall in love w/ that guitar, and you will never see it again.
I'll keep an eye out, sorry for your loss.
Sorry about the theft. I'm reluctant to sell items of that price through ebay. I've done it, but didn't like it. Will keep an eye out. Good Luck :EM>
Your link leads no where. Do you have a picture we can keep an eye out for?
I always make sure the money has cleared my bank account before sending anything out! :POL>
Sorry to hear about your loss. Are you out money at this point? Could you explain a bit more how the charges were reversed? I would figure hat as soon as the money arrives in your paypal account, it is only accessible by you. Do I misunderstand this?
Are the police visiting the address that it was shipped to?
read more about it.

You should post the serial number. Its the best identifier.

I would post the first 2 or 3 digits only. (too much information)
if that much is a match you have reason to move forward.
I don't know, but how does a person reverse a paypal transaction. I always wait to have the money in my hand to send the expensive item.
easy. I've done it. (at the seller's request)
But it doesnt explain why in this instance.
What does a thief care if he's using a stolen paypal account?
Maybe the legitimate owner of the account did it.
:POL>
Damn shame. :UND>
Keep in mind, there are two victims here. Jazzercountry of course, but also the person who had his ebay and paypal accounts hijacked. Evidently, that person was permitted to void the transactions as far as their account was concerned.
Terrible - so right there are 2 victims here. Good luck with the resolution...
Paypal tip - transfer the paypal money to a confirmed bank account once it hits your paypal account. It's FREE.
From Queequeg's post it looks like the guy is selling out of his motel room. He doesn't even make the bed before taking the pics! He's got a hot telecaster and a hot amp ready to go as well!
