Title: Guitar Center is a little confused....
Post by: fitness1 on June 10, 2006, 07:46:46 PM
They've had Rick's old LV-10 listed about 40 times now and most recently it had been about 850.00 less than the current price, yet the title says "reduced"      They didn't sell it the other 39 times for 25-30 percent less, I guess they think that if they price it up, someone will think it's more valuable??? :SHK>

Maybe one of their employee love it so much he doesn't want it to be sold :GRN>

They do weird stuff... like I always notice the 12-fret Legend cedar OM they've been putting up for a year or so. Why keep putting something up if it's too high to sell?

I was in GC a couple of weeks ago, Rick's guitar is hung way up on the wall so you can barely see it. it's been in that GC for a long long time. I told the sales guy it was on ebay alll the time, he didn't know anything about it, but why should that be surprising. :GRN>

Gee, you can get a David Webber walnut/cedar guitar in 6 different body shapes for about $2,000.  Or a Kronbauer.  Why would anyone want to spend $3,000 on a used Larrivee walnut/cedar?

The GC sense of 'retail' when it comes to used instruments is somewhat warped.  After they have it long enough, they will sell it at a loss in one of their big sales.  I've seen it happen more than once.
