I read on other threads that RS owners have had good luck with replacing the Klusons with Grover Rotomatics - apparently they drop right in, the only drawback being the extra unused screw hole (which can easily be filled).

Kluson/Tonepros are no longer being made as of 11/2014.  Once supplies dry up that's it. Tonepros discontinued their TPK line.

I looked for other options and found some Kluson/WDMs that are a drop in replacement for TPK's on my RS4 Forum V.  They are sealed die-cast with a 19:1 ratio.  They are called Kluson Revolution "G", KED-3801.

I have installed them without any problems and so far they are working fine and they look good.  Time will tell as far as quality and reliability is concerned.

Here are some photos of the original KlusonTPKs compared to the Kluson Revolution's.

I ended up getting Grover Keystone Rotomatics.  They installed easily and work/look very good.  But seeing pics of those Kluson Revolutions.....dang, a part of me wishes I had gotten those instead!
