Here's what we see now and then. Someone comes here says he loves his Larrivée although he had a problem with them and his guitar. He will then continually harp on this tune until ... well JBaer, whatever.
Suddenly? Jean Larrivée started building steel strings in the early 70's. He'd built quite a few by the time he built yours. None of them, to my knowledge, had  "just a square piece of wood under the fretboard to hold the neck straight". A description that does not adequately describe what would have had to be there.  Maybe you can understand the confusion as to what you were talking about. If however, Larrivée experimented with a method of neck reinforcement that was standard fare on guitars that most of us would give a fair buck to own, you still have not convinced anyone it was the fault of the builder. The fact that you had customer relations trouble with Larrivée concerning these "problems" may lead some of us who have intimate knowledge of the high quality of Larrive service that there is a piece of this picture that is missing.
If you have a 20 year old grudge, I've already heard enough of it. We can't solve it. We can only know your side because no one at Larrivée is going to play " he said - we said"
Anyone remember Dreamsinger? Wasn't this his basic M.O.?
