At long last I have been able to nail down design and pricing details and I will be ready to start taking orders in a couple of days. Here is what we will have:
Hanes Beefy Ts 100% pre-shrunk cotton t shirts in short sleeve and long sleeve styles. Black color. Larrivee logo on the front (where a pocket would be) and Special larrivee label on the back with Jean Larrivee signature on it and the words Forum Member.
Pricing looks like it's going to be $16.49 for short sleeve and $17.49 for long sleeve. Sizes sm, med. lrg Xlrg, & XXlrg
Not sure how much shipping would be yet but I expect it will be minimal
Once the order thread is officially open in a couple of days there will be a 2 week order period where you will be able to specify quantities, style, and size so I an place the bulk order which gives us the prices I've listed. I'll need you to send a money order and shipping info to an address I will provide to you via PM. I have compiled a preliminary list from the other thread of people who have indicated they want to be included in this project. It looks like around 60 shirts have been "pre-ordered" so far. The price quote was based on a quantity of 60 shirts. I expect now that orders can be placed there may be a few more jump on board. Shirts will be delivered to me about 2 weeks after I place bulk order. I will then package and ship your shirts to you. So you should be able to get your shirt in about 4 weeks from now if all goes smoothly.
See the rendering here for an idea of how they will look..
Good job, Tuffy. :thumb
Much obliged.

:thumbsup Yay! I'm in!!! :thumbsup
Thanks for doing this. Sounds like the shirts will be ready right around my birthday! :beer
WOW! Looks great. I am in for sure. 1 of each most likely.
They look good! I'm in for one of each as well. I missed the original thread.
Thanks!

If you can pay for the shipping I'll ship them anywhere you want ! I was told that international shipping would run about $12 but that sounds high to me. I'm checking further. After all, they don't weigh much !
Is it time to order? One of each, please!
If you're happy to post anywhere Tuffy then I'm definitely in for a short sleeved one to wing its way over to the UK, especially as I'm in the market at the moment for a 12 string Larrivee as well.
One Large short sleeve for me please

I think $12 seems high. A sturdy envelope or bubble wrap bag sent USPS would be very reasonable I would imagine.

Roger, I agree. The person who told me that was someone whom I had begun to work with on this before they flaked out on me. He said to expect a cost of $5 to ship in U.S. and $12 for international shipping. But, like you, I think a sturdy plastic bag should be ok and I would think it could be just a few dollars.. We are looking at less than 8oz shipping weight I think.
I'll get more info about shipping options in the next day or so and let everyone know.
Count me in for two medium short-sleeved ones + international shipping! :thumbsup
Thank you for doing this! The choice of print and colour is great!
In for a penny... Put me down for a short sleeve: large one.
Thanks for pulling this together! They look great. I'd like one large, long sleeve please. It will be bound for Canada.
1 medium short sleeve and a big thanks for all involved putting this together.
One short sleeve, one long sleeve, both large size.
Many thanks for getting this together!
mary
I like it!
One short and one long sleeve, both in XL
I'm in :wave
One - Long Sleeve - Medium.
Thanks Guys (and/or Gals)
UPDATE
I have explored the shipping options and it looks like I will need to add $3.50 per shirt for shirts to be shipped to USA or Canada. This covers the packaging materials as well as delivery charges. UK and Europe, etc. is, indeed, a whole different ballgame. I'm afraid $12 is pretty accurate for international delivery going through the US post office. UPS is more expensive and so I am ruling that out.
I hope this doesn't cause anyone too much pain. At this point nobody is out any money yet but keep these shipping fees in mind when you place your order.
I have now counted a total of 77 shirts that have been spoken for between the old thread this one.
So.. let's get started ! Below is a list of those who have expressed a desire to buy one or more Forum T-shirts. I will be contacting everyone on the list and sending them an official order form to fill out and return to me. If your name does not appear on this list add your name here in this thread and I will send you the form. The order thread will remain open until March 1. That gives you two weeks to fill out the order form and get it to me. I'll be placing the order for all the shirts on March 2.
We're almost there !
So far these are the members to whom I will be sending an order form: If you are not on the list and want a shirt, add your name in this thread. I'll check every day for new signups

Thanks Lynn, this is going to result in labor and possibly headache for you. We appreciate your effort.
One thought that crossed my mind was, what if we bought some forum shirts for John and Matthew, they are members here? A little something to give back for what they do for us. And of course JCL etc. if the ball gets rolling. Just some thoughts. :donut

As far as shirts for Matthew and John Jr., I would be happy to order a couple of extra shirts. Anyone who would like to contribute an extra dollar or two with their payment can help make this happen although it is not mandatory that they do so. I will take care of it either way. I believe John Jr. would be a Medium or large. Do you have an idea what size Matthew would need?
I will throw in for the extras for sure, no need for you to pay the bulk of the tab. I think large or XL might be good sizes to allow for shrinkage.

Just add whatever you want to the total when I send you the payment instructions.. 4 extra shirts should be about $80 or so with shipping. There are currently about 50 people signed up. If everyone added a dollar or two to their payment it would cover the cost easily.
Understand though, this is strictly voluntary
I'll be more than happy to add some extra pennies for the Larrivee family, especially Wendy after her amazing work on the headstock inlay on my C10.

I'm always hesitant with shirt sizes when ordering sight unseen...
...do you have any feel for whether these shirts will run "small" or "large," and how much they might shrink?
I've got the form run off and ready to fax - the size thing is the only part I'm struggling with!
Thanks for any help with this!

I have a long-sleeved shirt from a brewery which is the exact shirt we are getting. I don't think they run small. The size seems pretty true and there was very little, if any, shrinkage after being washed numerous times . They are 100% pre-shrunk cotton. But I always say that you should order 1 size up if there's any doubt; a little large is ok.. too small and you can't wear it.

Or maybe a little small is incentive to deflate the spare tire... that is, *my* spare tire. I'm not implying anyone else around here would have that issue! :laughin:

Yes, things are moving right along. As far as payment is concerned , next week I will be contacting each person who has placed an order and providing information on how to get your payment to me. I will be placing the order for all shirts on March 1. I expect to have them within 2 weeks from that date. I will then begin the process of shipping them to you all. Those who placed their orders first will have their shirts sent first. People should start receiving their shirts by the 3rd week in March.

You didn't miss anything. I just confirmed the shipping amount to the UK last night. After the shock of the first quote of $75 I realized I had inserted a weight of 10 lbs rather than 10 oz.

Duck, are you lost again ?
Smokin that wackie tabackie :?
Well, the ordering portion of this project is officially closed now. Looks like there may be a way to order a couple of extra shirts to keep on hand in case any get lost in route or we have latecomers who want in after today. I can't guarantee that there will be extras but I will try to make it happen. I will create a waiting list for any latecomers who would like a shirt but did not get their order in on time. And there's a possibility that a few shirts that were ordered may not end up getting paid for by the person who ordered it so those would become available as well. Hopefully there will not be many of those; looks like there are only a handful of orders that have not already been paid for.
So, what is the final tally ?
81 shirts ordered by 46 Forum Members. I have to say this is probably 20 more than I expected based on early responses in the Forum Shirt Threads. It shows that there are a lot of us who have a desire to publicly make our appreciation and commitment to Larrivee Guitars and to this fourm known.
I see that a thread has been started to show appreciation to me for getting this thing off the ground. Let me say that if it were not for the respect I have for the company, the product, and all of my fellow forum members I would never have taken on such a challenge. Each of you has been a pleasure to deal with in this whole process. I beg your patience as I await delivery of the shirts and begin to get them shipped out to you all. I expect to start sending out the first shirts in a couple of weeks. :thumb
Thanks for all your cooperation and help in making this become a reality

For those who are interested, here is an update on the Forum T-shirts.....
The shirts are in production and I have been assured that I will have them in my hands no later than March 19. The order ended up being for 86 shirts. 48 individuals will be receiving a package from me soon after. It will take a few days to get them all sorted, packaged, and sent to everyone so please be patient. I will send the shirts out according to your order number. First ordered - first sent. So Mary (Kaos) and Danny (Dependan) should be wearing their shirts pretty soon. A package will also be sent to Oxnard. :thumb
Thank you all for your prompt payments and your participation !
Thanks Lynn! :cheers
I guess I should have bought my Larrivee and joined the forum earlier. I would love to get a couple of those shirts!

Last Sunday in worship I played my OM-05 acoustic at first service (traditional/blended) and my RS-4 at 2nd service (contemporary) - too bad I couldn't wear the shirt to preach in as well! Hmmm...is a Larrivee forum shirt nice enough to preach in?! :thumb

We just need to do a "picture thread" with us in our new shirts (holding at least one of our Larrivee guitars, of course!).
Who knows ... one might even qualify for the GOTM honor around here (not mine, of course...).

I know everyone is anxious to get their shirts so I'm getting them out as quickly as I can. Triplicate customs forms have to be filled out for each international order and I've saved these for last so I can do them all at once. I intend to get all of them out today though. Wish I could have gotten everyone's shirt out to them right away but sorting, folding, packaging, addressing, and transporting 50 orders (86 shirts) to the post office has proven to be more time consuming than I expected. I appreciate everyone's patience
At this point on Thursday a.m. 36 orders have been shipped. Tonight I will post a list of everyone who has a shirt or shirts in the delivery system.

Hey Tuffy,
I just wanted to echo everyone else's comments by saying that I really appreciate the time and effort it took you to get all the shirts ordered and out in the mail. My shirts are probably on the pony express from the USA to Canuckistan. I expect them to show up in 2 weeks time once the boys in Canada Customs have tried them on and decided they don't know what Larrivee is and their beer bellies are too big for the size I ordered :laughin: Good news is that I will probably get my shirts before Ducktrapper because he lives in the bush and prolly has to take a snowmobile to pick up his shirts at the post office :laughin:. Looking forward to wearing the shirts with pride and posting a picture on the forum.
Thanks again!!

Jordan, I think you'll find that they were well worth the wait ! Shirts are on their way to many locations in Canada as well as Sweden and the UK. They will be arriving over the course of the next week or so I guess. It has been a much bigger task than I ever dreamed it would be. But I am pleased that I was able to get this done for my forum friends around the world.

No live in bush. Live in igloo on tundra. Need shirt, still cold! :laughin:
You should try the UK Ducktrapper!
We've just been hit again with another snow storm, and the couple of poxy inches we get has brought most of the country to a complete and utter standstill!
It honestly is laughable, as well as being pathetic!

Roger, it went out via Priority Mail on 3/20 with an expected delivery date of 3/22. I must have bogged down the whole US Postal Service with so many shipments !
mine showed up today...coast to coast!
Thanks Tuffy
I really can't complain about the mail service, I've been ordering quite a few things lately and everything arrives in a reasonable amount of time. Even shipments from China are only 8 to 10 days.
For priority mail its usually 4 days from CA, at least thats what I have been experiencing. If it comes tomorrow great if not it will likely be here Monday.
I've got my new Wildwood music shirt to wear for the time being. My wife keeps telling me to take it off so she can wash it but I've only been wearing it for 5 days. :laughin:

Add my voice to the chorus of thanks to Lynn for all his hard work :cheers
I got my shirts two days ago. They are gorgeous. These shirt deals are sometimes dicey; however, the shirts we got exceeded my expectations. The weight and design and layout is excellent. Lynn did an outstanding job for us, giving us much of his time for free. We are very lucky indeed.

Mary, I'm happy you are pleased with the quality and design of the shirts. I knew that our members would not settle for less than excellence so I chose the best I could get. I figured that the shirts should be as high quality as the guitars they represent :thumb
I guess I should chime in and say that I got mine a couple days ago. I'll echo the sentiments here; they look good, and fit quite well. I do wish I had also gotten a short sleeve version because it's about to get hot here in the southwest US.

"Your item departed our ALLEN PARK, MI 48101 sort facility on March 24, 2013."
Looks like it's on it's way.
Over four decades ago I hung out in Allen Park.
Yeah, well Lynn, my last guitar delivery made it from Houston to Allen Park in one day, then it was on its way to Waterford (1 1/2 north of me?!) and ended up back in Allen Park for the weekend and then finally to my house on Tues. (8 days from mailing)--box was beat up, but guitar had been packaged well, thank goodness. I dont care too much for those sorters in Allen Pk.
Hope your shirt doesnt get the same handling, Roger.

Hi All,
I was very surprised to receive a package from Tuffy a couple of days ago and was shocked to see the perfect forums tees. I just wanted to take a couple of seconds and say Thank you very much to everyone who made that possible. The shirts are wonderful and i'm sure they will sneak their way into several of our facebook photos. On a related note, I continue to amazed by the people of the Larrivee Forum and all of my family just want to tell you how much we appreciate you guys (and gals).

I was happy to kick in Matt! Lending your family name to our madness is very good of you and your family.
Now, I wonder where the dog sled with mine is. :crying:
I'm wearing my long sleeve right now and hope to get some photos tonight.
Happy to be part of the new fashion trend at Oxnard Matt :cheers
I just have to wait for UK Customs to lose my shirt, drink 100 cups of tea, find it down the back of the tea-rooms sofa, and finally send it on to me.

My fabulous Forum T-Shirt had arrived from the US in 1 week, and I have been proudly, and happily wearing it around the house all night tonight, as well as getting a pic taken quickly by my good lady wife so I could add it to the pics thread.
Many, many, many thanks to Lynn and his superb work on sorting all this huge order, and then getting them out all over the world.
Diolch Yn Fawr as we say in Welsh :cheers

:thumb Great. Hope it's up to your expectations. So far I've heard from members as far apart as Alaska to Florida and the United Kingdom... and now the Canadian folks are finally getting their shirts. I think there are about 8 people who have not responded yet. But they may have their shirt and just not have spoken up yet. Hoping to hear from Anders451 in Sweden soon. So far, no complaints

I got mine today (in Edmonton). Thanks Tuffy.

I wish all members would fill in the location in their profile. If you're afraid of someone "visiting" your abode, you can be very general in location, but I think it's nice to know where folks are from.

T shirt received in Victoria B.C. Fantastic....Thanks very much for organizing this!
It's time to close the book on the Larrivee Forum T-shirt project.
I've just received confirmation that everyone who ordered a shirt (or shirts) has received them. I can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that none were lost in the mail or damaged in shipment.
Some final thoughts as we put this to bed....
I appreciate the co-operation of everyone who participated; everyone paid promptly and provided me with the moral support I needed to see this through.
The final tally was 86 shirts ordered and sent to 50 different members in 4 countries.
The Larrivee family has expressed gratitude for the generosity of those who donated a little extra so that we could provide them with shirts too.
Shirts were sent to JCL, Wendy, Christine, Matthew, and John Jr.
I know there are some members, old and new, who have inquired about how to order shirts. Of course the ordering period has long-since passed and there are no more shirts available at this time. I have been asked if there is a chance we will do this again. Let's revisit this topic at a later date... I wouldn't rule it out. If there is sufficient interest later this summer we might get something going again.
Lastly, I would like to acknowledge that forum member PeterParlor originally suggested the Forum Tshirt thing in the very beginning. After many months of discussion it finally became a reality and I would like to thank him for suggesting the idea that got it all started.
Hope you are all enjoying your shirts !

I'll sell mine if you can live with a XXL that runs kind of small. I washed it and might have worn it once or twice but its too tight so it sits unloved in the drawer. PM me if you're interested.

Though I think the way it has always worked has been for someone to take charge and make it work. If there is someone who wants to get something going, post another thread as a poll to see if there is enough interest. If there is, go with it. Make it happen.

I bet "the usual suspects" would help out with that if the rest was together.
It takes a fair amount of work to get things coordinated... get people to agree on what they want, find a vendor, arrange quantities of sizes, colors, styles, etc, put out the chunk of $$ or collect ahead of time, arrange shipping, etc.
All that said, I'd most likely be out of this go round.
Ed
I'm thinking, per approval, the Celtic JCL logo by itself on anything other than a black shirt would sell plenty. I'd take a couple

I'd be down for that. That design between the shoulder blades would look nice. V-neck is 'in' right now though I imagine that would limit our # of interested participants much more than a crew.
I'd like it to be a decent material and cut. Would be a shame to do this a and have it on a boxy, cheap shirt.
The biggest roadblock is always the same: getting enough members to agree on a design, style, color(s) etc. If there are not enough orders, the cost per shirt is just too high. I have headed up the first two forum t-shirt projects and was responsible for processing orders, getting them made, collecting the money, and shipping the shirts to everyone who placed an order.
I can tell you that it is way more work than you can imagine to keep all this straight and make sure everyone gets the right size, color, etc. and that they are shipped properly worldwide.
You should also know that we cannot use the Larrivee logo without written permission from the Larrivee family which I did obtain for the previous shirt projects. Remember that these are not Larrivee guitar shirts.... they are Larrivee forum shirts. We are not in competition with the Larrivee company for product sales.
It seems like there is some interest in doing another order. But I don't see much agreement on any of the details at this point. Hash it out. Come up with some sort of agreement on what you want and I will again volunteer to take on the task of getting the artwork, getting necessary approvals, and producing samples for those who are interested. As I recall you will need to have about 36 or more shirts ordered in order to keep the cost per shirt under $20.
The first shirts which had the Larrivee label on the back and the Larrivee logo on the front were, in my opinion, very classy. The last ones were also nice and offered several colors.
At one time the idea of a hoodie was thrown out. That can be done but they are more expensive and not appealing to the majority of those who would otherwise go for a regular tshirt.
T the P
Lynn,
Very good of you to offer to step up to the plate again (IF anything can be decided/agreed upon...)
And, yeah, we're not really going into "hoodie" season right now...or long sleeve, collared shirt season. That, or a polo, might interest me.
I don't know if there are any Larrivee shirts or hats available right now from other vendors, like Cherokee (that's where I got my first shirt, hat, key chain, strap, picks...) :rolleye:

I can't read the front of my 40th anniversary shirt anymore so I would go for the Celtic logo but I liked the original black.
The New label looks cool too.
I know this would probably not fly, but I'll throw it out there. One of Jean's sons has a JCL tattoo on his arm, it's the Celtic type lettering I believe and its high up on his shoulder.
So how about a Larrivee logo 0n the back and a JCL on the right shoulder? :whistling:

I'm guessing he meant the sleeve, which is a pretty stylish thing lately. I'd greatly prefer that design on the sleeve vs the breast pocket area, which is less in favor right now.
Here's a better illustration on the new label suggestion for the shirt. (Just to get the ideas flowing.)
Here's one with a silver logo design.
T shirt front?
I'm in for at least one.
Hope this helps.... The last shirts were a bit snug in fit.
Those ideas look great, USN!
Dude those are awesome...even in black! I'd definitely be in for at least one!
The brown back design is awesome, echoes the guitar label. I'd be down for one.
Lynn, have these designs been "Larrivee approved"? If so, and that front logo appears next to the name, I'll be in for one...
Hello all, the t-shirt rendering photos I posted are just ideas for now intended to get the design for the next forum shirt going. None of them has been approved etc.
Here are some signed label logo t shirt design ideas.
Quote from: Mikeymac on April 09, 2015, 12:16:38 PM

At the present time, only the Larrivee logo that has appeared on the front of the previous 2 shirts and the signed label on the back of the first forum t-shirt (The one that appears in the first few pages of this thread) have been authorized for use on forum shirts. But I don't see any reason why authorization could not be obtained by going through proper channels as I did for the original shirts.
Question for USNavySeniorChief....... How did you get artwork for the renderings you posted here ? John Jr. sent me a signed label to use for forum shirt #1. Do you have a label that's not inside a guitar already ?
With artwork that's approved by the Larrivee company I can get my supplier to give me a quote for the production of the shirts. As i mentioned earlier, there needs to be few dozen people on board for the price to be reasonable.
As a reminder, these are the things that need to be determined:
Style; normally it would be a T but it could be a collared golf shirt. I don't think that appeals to the masses though
Long sleeved or short sleeved ? or an option for either one.
Pocket on front ? We haven't chosen this option yet but it is possible
Color: first one was black only. the second one offered several colors. in small quantities there's no addition charge for multiple color selections
Design: This is the one the is hard to get a consensus on. But USNavySeniorChief seems to have come up with an idea that could gain traction.
I suggest that a new thread should be started since this thread was created to actually order the first shirts and a fresh start for these new shirts would probably be best
Tuffy, I'm not sure if it was legit but for the sake of getting ideas for the shirt I pulled all the images from the web. all I did was cut paste and render the design using the software in my iPhone. I have a signed label in my LV-09 but for some reason I could not get a flat image of it due to the crease in the middle. The wooden artwork label was from a picture I took during my last visit with Jean a couple of weeks ago.
I think starting another thread is a great idea. Then hopefully we could get a forum survey on the final design using approved images. Thank you all for getting this going again for all of us!
I would model for the shirt but I think that would negatively affect the interest and marketability of the t-shirt! LOL! :roll

I'm sure that anything you want to use for purposes of demonstration here on the forum is fine. But, getting the shirts produced, I had to convince the legal dep't of the mfr. that I had permission to use the Larrivee logo and any other proprietary images such as the label. Fortunately I had written authorization from John Jr.
That is great info! Thanks Tuffy! Please let me know if you need me to PM / e mail you the image files I used for the design.

Yes.. A new "official" 3rd. Generation Forum Shirt thread will be open tomorrow for everyone to contribute their ideas for a new style for 2015. Turn around time can be fairly quick if we get commitments from everyone in a timely manner after a final design is agreed upon. You can have a new shirt for summertime
