I don't know who or how many here have heard of it, but the last Saturday in August every year is Play Music On The Porch Day.  Kind of a hippy sentiment...  quit doing everything else for just a little while and try to fill the world with music.  :nana_guitar  :guitar

It in my plans for the day.  I just figured I'd mention it.

Supposed to hit 100 today. It's stay in the cool basement and play old 60's pop songs I've been working on.  :beer

Hoping this heat subsides soon. It's been a heck of a summer.

I don't have a front porch at my house, but every single night of the week is sit-in-my-bedroom-and-play-guitar-to-my-four-walls-before-bed day.

As a Northerner (Canadian) in Central Wisconsin, I'm longing for fall and not minding the idea of winter.
Of course, winters here are not that scary.  :laughin:

You fellas should come to Texas.  We'll show you what summer is.

No thanks. Maybe in January. 100 is ungodly hot. Hellishly warm.  :laughin:

Good thing we walked the dogs before 8.  :beer

I'm sailing down the Lake Michigan shoreline with my son to put his boat up on a cradle and wrap it for the off season on Saturday.
About an 8 hour sail, depending on the winds.
Maybe we'll listen to some "yacht rock".

Well, shiver me timbers.
As a child of four can plainly see, we're going to be very busy Saturday.

We pillage plunder, we rifle and loot

We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot

We extort and pilfer, we filch and sack
Maraud and embezzle and even hijack

We kindle and char and in flame and ignite
We burn up the city, we're really a fright
We're rascals and scoundrels, we're villains and knaves

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me

Shiver Me Timbers - Tom Waits

I'm leaving my family, I'm leaving all my friends
My body's at home, but my heart's in the wind
Where the clouds are like headlines on a new front-page sky
My tears are salt water, and the moon's full and high

And I know Martin Eden's gonna be proud of me now
And many before me, who've been called by the sea
To be up in the crow's nest, and singing my say
Shiver me timbers, cause I'm a-sailing away

And the fog's lifting, and the sand's shifting, and I'm drifting on out
Old Captain Ahab, he ain't got nothing on me now
So swallow me, don't follow me, I'm traveling alone
Blue water's my daughter, and I'm gonna skip like a stone

So please call my missus, gotta tell her not to cry now
'Cause my goodbye is written by the moon in the sky
Hey, and nobody knows me, I can't fathom my staying
And shiver me timbers, cause I'm a-sailing away

And the fog's lifting, and the sand's shifting, and I'm drifting on out
And old Captain Ahab, he ain't got nothing on me
So come and swallow me, follow me, I'm traveling alone
Blue water's my daughter, I'm gonna skip like a stone

And I'm leaving my family, I'm leaving all my friends
My body's at home, but my heart's in the wind
Where the clouds are like headlines upon a new front-page sky
And shiver me timbers, 'cause I'm a-sailing away
