Name a guitar player who tends to stick with one brand of instrument....... example.......Jimmy Wahlstein is always seen playing a Larrivee..once in awhile you see him with a Gibson or a lap steel but usually he has his LSV-11, Koa 00, or some other high end Larri........... :coffee
Since Leo Kottke teamed with Bob Taylor to create his LKSM-6 and -12 he hasn't played anything else. And that's been quite a few years.
f
Willie Nelson's been playing that Martin classical for how many years now?

We have a winner!
P.S. I wonder what Denny Zager plays?
Doyle Dykes and Taylor
Phil Keaggy and Olson
Doc Watson and Gallagher
Stephen Stills and Martin
John Mayer and Martin
Laurence Juber and Martin
Keb' Mo' and Gibson/Epiphone
Dave Mathews and Taylor
Tommy Emmanuel and Maton
Zohn and Larr :rolleye: RandyR and Larrivee
Jimmy Buffett and Martin
I wouldn't list Keaggy exclusively with Olson. He's endorsed many different acoustic guitar brands over the years.
Some I can think of right off the top of my head:
Langejans
Charis
I think I've seen more but those two stick in my head because they are both luthiers from Michigan, my former home state.

Agreed, not exclusively Olson, however naturally every builder who's anybody (or aspiring to be) offered him guitars Including Bill Wise (Charis) - he even recorded a Taylor 514CE on one of the later Wood & Steel discs, but he still uses the Olsons, and certainly those are the guitars I associate him with.
I think more than anyone else he and James Taylor have given Jim his "name" in the business.

He has also played Mcpherson and cut promo CD's for them.

And for Voyage Air travel guitars and I'm sure for many more.
Just about every famous Christian guitarist is sponsored with a McPhersons, Phil is no exception. (those are terrific sounding instruments btw)
For me the artist that comes up at the mention of Olson is Phil, and vice versa.
I guess loyalty can mean different things to different people. I was taking a dictionary definition of it.
Al DiMeola - acoustic Ovation
Al DiMeola - electric Paul Reed Smith
Pat Metheny acoustic- Linda Manzer
Pat Metheny electric - Gibson & Ibenez
Neil Young..Gibson Les Paul. Hasn't changed frets or strings in 30 years :roll
