That "sounds like" feature occasionally serves up some gems for me! Starting with a girl duo Madison Violet which led to a girl trio The Good Lovlies one of whom, Caroline Marie Brooks put out a solo album which included a cover of a song written by Rodger Miller called "Oo-De-Lolly". The song features her sweet breathy girlish voice but it's the song itself that's turned into an earworm for me as it's tons of fun to work out fingerstyle. I've worked it out in G, A and E but not 100% at where Caroline is playing it.

The song was featured on a 1973 Disney version of "Robin Hood" that I assume Rodger Miller wrote for the movie. I've tried google to see if there's a video of him playing it with no luck.

If anyone wants to take a stab at figuring it out I'd love to hear it and will gladly share mine. . .

Cool song. I wasn't aware of it. Seems pretty straight forward. Only slightly more than a minute long! A-D-A-E-A the little change starts on an A7-D-B-E repeat.  :cheers

Thanks! Boy, did I overthink this! I gave it another listen, but before that I was 90% certain it was capo on II, key of G. But I agree with you it was done without a capo in A. I use a capo so often, that I never think to not use it.

I like it more every time I play it. It's so concise, there's nothing left out or overdone. I suppose Rodger had X amount of time to fill for the animated scene which required brevity.

What threw me off is Caroline is using the guitar as very faint backing - she could have easily gotten away with doing the track a cappella, but she makes a point to play only the lower 4 strings so as to not have competeting treble notes in the mix. That's where I went wrong imagining where the high notes would be instead of focusing on the bottom strings.

However, my folky fingerstyle uses all 6 strings with reckless abandon. I may well add my own cover to my Soundcloud, but considering it's a Walt Disney Corporation property, I dunno if I can (?)

Thanks again, I owe ya one. . .

Not a problem. Glad to help.  :beer

So I figured I'd beat this to death and post a quick and dirty cover. I landed on capo on F, key of G. Caroline nor Rodger has nothing to fear from me . . . :beer

It is good, and I liked the way you ended it.
