Here's the image. I've already replied to the poster that its not a Larrivee.

perhaps someone here will recognize the guitar. a double cutaway acoustic isn't common.

The headstock inlay may help id it.

The shape and look of the headstock makes me think of the old USA made Harmonies with a hundred different names on the headstock. I have an old Harmony Sovereign that has Fender on it. But the double cut a way makes me think it may be a small builder as well.

Could it be an (Eastern) European made guitar?

There's conjecture on the forum where its posted that the picture was taken in Israel.

I've seen lots of guitars from europe and russia but I'm not formular with this one.I hope I get the name right but I could have it wrong but there was a company called Whectler I think that offered both a US made and anasian made double cutaway guitar maybe 10 years back or so.I found that they we're very pricey instruments if I remember right the asian import cost a little bit more wholesale then what I was paying for Larrivee's from Canada at the time.I played a sample of both the asian and the US modal and wasn't impressed.

Wechter guitars makes a double cutaway, but its not like this one.

I'm trying to find pictures of early 1970's Wechters and can't. That said, the fuzzy headstock logo doesn't seem to spell Wechter.

It doesn't look like the current Wechter double cutaway. http://www.wechterguitars.com/models/Pathmaker

You'd think a simple web search for double cutaway acoustic guitar would zero in on this, but there is so much junk on the internet that I get page after page of fake web sites responding to any word I type in.

It might be a Langejans.  He has been known to build double cutaways if I'm not mistaken.

-Guild D40 (donated to science due to terminal      Onthevergeofimplosionitis)
-Brian Fry Custim 000 in the works

Not sure what it is, but its not a Larrivee.

Here's a pic of a Langejans headstock.   Logo looks similar to the one in question

Here's a better picture:

Likely not taken in Israel.  It's of  Dean Reed, the "Red Elvis".  http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,,2727559,00.html

We still don't know what kind of guitar it is though.  Could be Eastern European since he spent a lot of time there.

I think it says Limberger. It is kind of cheesy. The "Red" Elvis?

Must be a an old photo from Balalaika Magazine, probably an endorsement deal for Fugly guitars.

Here's a few links to help you out - turns out there's a Dean Reed fan site at http://www.deanreed.de/deutsch/index.html

A few more photos with that guitar are found at that site:

http://www.deanreed.de/img-sites/197908bam001.html
http://www.deanreed.de/img-sites/1981-libanon01.html

The fan site and photo captions put him with that guitar from 1979-1981.

The upper bout looks like an extension instead of a cutaway. Do you suppose that's a sound hole or a decoration on that extended upper bout?

You guys might dig this page for guitar identification: http://www.jedistar.com/jedistar_vintage_guitar_dating_l.htm

On that page there's a couple of logos that look similar - the Lebeda and the Leduc, though the latter seems to be electrics only.

Lebeda was a czech maker, known for mandos though.
