OK... seems like there is some interest in getting another t shirt order started.
This is the place to discuss design ideas, colors, etc Everyone can have a say. In the end there will have to be a single design that is agreed upon by the majority of interested members for us to go forward with the production of the shirts.
There have been some good ideas put forth on the other thread. Present them here for discussion and let's see where this goes. :thumb
Tuffy
I have loved every design so far. The only thing I'd like to see is a pocket, if it doesn't add too much to the cost.
Ed
Thanks Tuffy,
Here are the designs I submitted on the other thread.
Back Design # 1.
Back Design #2
Back Design #3
Back Design #4 (silver logo) and Back Design # 5 (Brown logo)
Front Design #1
Front Design #2 (with pocket logo)
I'm not that great with graphics but if you need me to render your ideas on a shirt, just post the images and ideas in this thread and I'll do my best to put 'em together for you all. Have a great weekend! :cheers
I like #1 front with #2 back-I would be in either way for 2 or 3 tees.

Same combo here....
Front #1 and Back #2.
I'm down for ordering two shirts regardless of the design outcome
I like the combo that's getting the votes, but I could go for others, either way, I'm in for 1 shirt this time.
I'm wondering if the "made in the U.S.A." words in the label might be a turn off to our Canadian and other international members. In the past I have shipped a lot of shirts across the border and it might be difficult to get a sufficient quantity of orders without total participation from previous shirt buyers. Just a thought  Of course those words could be omitted if we want to do so.

That's what Larrivee is now though, a US company. If someone is bothered then I can't see them wanting a Larrivee shirt at all. Granted, the shirt represents the forum but if you cater to everyone's quirks, you'll never get anywhere.
Front #1 and back 2 are fine. Personally not into pocket T shirts though. Would go for at least 1or possibly 2 if different colors were available and no pocket option.
Front 1, back 1, Back one doesn't say made in USA if that helps. + I like that color best. I can do one, no pocket though.
I'd be in for (2) new Tshirts!!
Front 1
Back 2
Thank you guys for putting this this together!
:thumbsup

I own a couple of Canadian guitars that say Made in Canada. :?

Heres' s a possible compromise. " North American Made"

I had to do a second take on that comment. Turn off? Wow.
I still think that if you want to promote the FORUM, put the
forum web address on the T-shirt.
Although I prefer the pocket design I will buy 1 of any combo and if they have a pocket I would get 2 w/pockets... BobW...

It seems like I hit some kind of nerve with my question about the "made in the U.S.A." on the label. Calm down folks. Let me explain. The first forum shirt project was discussed for many, many pages here before a consensus was achieved and we went forward with an order for almost 90 shirts. The label that was used as artwork for the back of those shirts had the word "Vancouver" in small print. It was an older label that was used when there was only a Vancouver operation; no US factory at that time. It was decided that the Vancouver should be left off of the final artwork for the back. You can see from the photos below, this is how it turned out. I also know, since I was the one who had to package and ship them all over the world, we had approx. 1/3 of the shirts shipped to Canada and other international destinations. Let me be clear here, I don't care if the USA appears on the label for the new shirts or not... My thinking was that it may be a tender subject to our northern neighbors who no longer have a Canadian-made" guitar when then buy their Larrivee.
I don't know if any of the members who have responded so far are from outside the U.S. Perhaps it's not an issue at all and I raised concern where none was warranted. But I am pretty sure we will not reach the number of shirt orders we need unless we have participation by more than the 12 or 13 members who have responded so far. We tried to do a 30th anniversary shirt a few years ago and it fell flat due to lack of adequiate interest by our membership.

Since I'm one of the instigator for the 2015 Forum shirt, put me in for 2 regardless of the design! :guitar
My 2¢, I believe the "Made in the USA" script will be a non issue.

Not a bad idea. Don't know what that does to the design, but maybe have the web address in smaller print under the "Forum Member" words...
"LarriveeForum.com" should replace "Forum Member". I think it works better that way and it saves from the redundancy of putting both.

Exactly, that was my intention when I suggested the inclusion of the web address. :thumbsup
Agree with general concensus. I'm in for 2. Someone mentioned another shirt color...that would be nice. But I realize it would be impossible to get 80 or 90 people to agree on a single color. It is what it is...I'll take 2 please

Just personal opinion, forum needs to be bigger. I'd ditch "member" and make Larrivee Forum larger. I don't see the point in member since we didn't receive these for our membership and I kinda think it looks better without. Not trying to be picky or step on toes, I went to school for commercial art so my instincts sorta kick in on projects like this. Sorry. :p
OK... Here yah' go. (Back logo design #7) :cheers
Just in case... Here's another one in B/W. (Back logo design #8)
I personally like the "Musician's Forum" script myself with the "Join us @ www.LarriveeForum.com" link on the logo.
Back logo design #7 looks great! I am in for 1 or 2.
Logo number 7 with logo number 1 color.
Design #9
With all due respect, I think a couple of the designs are just too "busy" and also may not come out too well in a screen-printed shirt. But I am not the decider here. Since everyone is voicing their preferences I will just say that I prefer a new one. Call it design #9 if you will. I think the color works very well with a black shirt (see the photos of the original forum shirt) and it is simple enough with just enough information. The Made in XXXX is not involved and the "established in 1967" is more important, I think. So here is my idea for a more streamlined back design

Well done tuffythepug!
My vote is for a shirt with USNavySeniorChief's Front Design 1
with tuffythepug's back design
Tuffy,
Would it be safe to say that we have enough design input to start a survey for the T shirts?
I do like it better without the signature, only because the sig isn't going to come out well and it's just going to slop up the appearance, making it harder to read. However, I prefer USN's last design overall because it looks more like the actual label. Removing the USA doesn't make sense to me and I'm not sure how it became an issue.

Yes, I think we have adequate input and many choices. Let's get some votes. Poll is in place. You can vote for 2 selections. I'm assuming everyone is ok with the front design without pocket.
DESIGN #9
OK.. I blew it with the design numbers. didn't realize there was already a #8 presented by Chief.. I guess my offering would have to be #9
sorry for the mistake. the two people who voted for #8 may not have known which #8 they were voting for; if you are confused cancel your vote and vote again.

I haven't set a cut-off date yet but I'm thinking a week might be adequate. Do you think we need to extend it beyond a week ?
I'm good with a week or maybe till next Friday. Just inform me so I could send you the graphics (if needed) for the winning design. :bgrin:

Yes, I'll need the graphics. but more importantly, I'll need a commitment for quite a few more more shirts. On the past shirt orders I've needed a quantity of a few dozen in order to keep the price reasonable; somewhere between $16 and $18 per shirt. These will be high-quality shirts from either Hanes or Gildan. Once the design is agreed upon I'll get a price and set up a sign-up sheet for everyone to provide info such as quantity desired and sizes needed. We'll see how long it takes to get enough orders to proceed to the next step.
I wonder if JCL or sons would care to add their thoughts. I'm thinking specifically of the made in USA part. After all it is their name we're carrying around.
Thanks TP

It's standard procedure to request input from the Larrivee family as well as the owner of this forum before anything is considered final. This shirt project will be no different. On the first forum shirt project we sent free shirts to all the Larrivee family members as a show of appreciation for their efforts in providing us such great products. I'd like to do that again if we can.
Tuffy,
I will contribute to buy some extras for the Larrivee team.

Maybe it just me but a little confusing as to which design is which, especially 6,7,8. Are these the Front (with 1_5 & 9 the backs.)?

We are only voting on the design for the back. Go back to the first page and you can see that there were two front designs.., front #1 and front #2. We are going with front #1. No vote necessary on that. There are 9 possible back designs which this poll is all about.

I voted for #9. However, I think the background color is too dark of a shade of brown or tan or whatever it is. The color of the text is fine. I think the color of the "paper" in the label it is trying to emulate should be more of an ivory or very light tan color. I agree with black shirt and no pockets.
I'm in for 2 shirts this time around.

Another vote for #9 here, and I agree with the thoughts above on the background color. I wouldn't want it to get too pale, but a little lighter would be good.
I'm in for 1 this time, and I'll contribute to the fund for the Larrivee family's gift shirts.
oh yeah, and I'll also contribute to fund for Larrivee family
I prefer the darker background, makes it look like it is etched in mahogany instead of a printed label, kinda like how Larrivee does their neck block with the JCL logo.
Thank for putting the T-shirt buy together. I prefer the promotional text for the forum
versus "Forum member", glad to see it was swapped.
I'll buy a couple, agree with the comments regarding #9

Glad to have you on board.
Seems like we have reached a reasonable number of participants so we will definitely be moving ahead with the project. I'll put together an official sign-up sheet in the next day or two. Matthew Larrivee has graciously offered to provide the original art for us so we can get the highest quality graphics on the front and back. Things are looking good for getting these shirts into your hands next month. :thumb
Thanks Tuffy for taking the lead and making this happen. Once we get our shirts we need to figure out where to have a. Larrivee forum member summit so we can all gather and wear our shirts and jam. Larrivee factory perhaps? Ok I know one project at a time
Thanks for looking after this time after time. if you are shipping to the Great White North I will take an order form.

With four dogs and a long haired cat, I'd sure like one in a color other than black. I look like a walking furball in black. :laughin:
