Hey Everyone,
I got a new guitar last year and I had intended to post information and pictures but never got around to it.
I want to share with you my LCJ-10KK which was built in December, 1997. From information supplied to me from the Larrivee Company (correspondence from Matthew Larrivee and Mike Kitchen) this guitar is very rare. According to company records there were only TWO of these guitars ever made (An all Koa (top/back/sides) – LJ body with the Florentine Cutaway). The guitar is one of the most beautiful instruments I have ever seen – the Koa is amazing and the Mermaid headstock inlay is a work of art in itself. And most importantly, the guitar plays like a dream and has wonderful tone – deep and warm with clarity in the highs. After the guitar arrived, I had an Baggs Anthem system installed and it sounds incredible plugged in.
I am attaching some pictures taken by the original owner. I hope to get some new pictures soon, but instead of waiting I wanted to go ahead and post these.

Sweet guitar. I'm a fan of the Larrivee all Koa guitars (tone and appearance are great). Love to hear it if that is possible. Do you play it at church?

I am blessed to have this guitar. I will try to get some new pictures and work in getting some sound clips as well. This guitar just blows me away with the killer tone and playability - great action. And I love looking at it!

I think that I may have met a cousin of this guitar over the weekend. It had L-10 appointments without the inlay on the bridge. The headstock had a patterned inlay (non-human or animal figure).
The body shape was a C but the lower bout was about an inch wider than a stock L or C. The owner compared it to a C10 that she had in her possession when she got the new-to-her guitar.
Made in the late 90's this also had barn-door electronics.
The top was darker than a usual spruce top. I didn't get to see it up close. This was a musical-buddy's guitar, just got it as a gift. She was on stage when I saw it. We had the briefest chat about it during a break.
Does anybody else see something interesting in the top in this picture?

EDIT: OK NOW IT IS SHOWING UP!? Anyways, if I use my imagination, I think I see something "anatomical'??

I assume you mean the top of the guitar, not the top of the picture. And you are seeing an
image of something, right? If that's the case, I don't see anything else other than what I'v seen already. I just asked "The wife" to have a good look and she also saw what I see without any prompting, but not what you see, only she sees it from the other side!!. :arrow :wacko:
(She hates being called "the wife" but I'm getting away with it in this case) :laughin:

I'm seeing something, an image, in the top of the guitar. It's not a reflection, it's in the colour of the top.

What do you see?
I see a guy (face is just above the bridge) with his arms raised up into the two sides of the upper bout. Looks like a guy raising his hands to heaven in praise.

ST and Rockstar, I don't see either one of those images no matter how hard I try.
What my wife and I both saw is a nude woman's lower body from about the navel area to just below the knees with the hips in line with the area between the bridge and soundhole. I saw her from the front but my wife saw her from behind. :blush:

L07, I never noticed the "image" until your post. Yeah I can see the anatomy you mentioned when I look at the picture.
Now you guys know I am a pastor and have played this guitar at church - and I have already had comments about the "nudie" mermaid on the headstock and now I have to deal with the lower half of a nude woman!
I love this guitar anyway!

I can see three distinctly different images here. Two of them would fit right in at a church.
A third image is a tree-lined road.

In the image of the man with his arms raised I can also see two figures like two runners crossing a finish line together, each with an upraised arm.
Another thing I see is is a tree lined road.
This reminds me of when we were kids laying on our backs and finding images in the clouds as they floated by. Oh to be that young and worry free again.
