Title: New Larrivee Electric Guitars Released
Post by: guitarcrazy on March 10, 2010, 06:18:58 PM
Larrivee announced a new electric model today.  It will be less than the RS-4, with a retail price of $1695.  It looks like a nice instrument with a much more affordable price tag.  J

Dear Larrivee dealers,

We are expanding our electric line with a new model; the RS-2.

- Flat top, solid mahogany body and neck
- Rosewood fingerboard
- Dot position markers
- Tone Pros bridge and tail piece
- Tone Pros "old school" tulip button tuners
- CTS Pots
- Russian NOS Paper & Oil Capacitors
- Larrivee Custom Wound High Performance Pickups (no covers)
- Available in Translucent Tobacco, Translucent Amber, Translucent Cherry, and Black

Retail price is $1695.  A deluxe arch top case is included in the price. Delivery time on the first batch will be around 3-5 weeks.

We are making a serious commitment to electric guitars. As many of you know, electrics are not new for Larrivee. We produced thousands in the 1980's under the Larrivee name and built many for other companies. The Kramer Paul Dean guitar, the Neal Schon guitars and other very famous electrics of that time were built by Larrivee.

We consider our new RS line of guitars a stand-alone part of Larrivee. Existing dealers who have bought RS-4's in the past are open to buy the RS-2 at will. Dealers who have not purchased an RS-4 and wish to order the new RS-2 must also purchase at least one RS-4 model in order to become a Larrivee electric dealer.

We are in the electric business for the long haul. These guitars are professional-grade instruments and will go head to head with any electric on the market. All Larrivee electrics are hand built in the USA.

We will have these beauties on display at the SXSW Show next weekend in Austin Texas and at the Dallas Guitar show in April.

Hi Rob, they didn't say anything about strap locks, or P-90s, unfortunately.  Larrivee is big on winding their own pickups, so I don't think we'll see a P-90 option any time soon.  I'll ask them though, maybe it will give them something to think about.  I hope things are well for you.  J

This will give many that were straddling the fence the extra push to go ahead and get one of Larrivee's
fine electric guitars without breaking the bank! :+1:

I can't wait to get my new Lefty RS-4 in Rootbeer that is being completed as we speak! :beer

Jason let them know that Lindy Fralin has a split sigle coil that fits in a humbucker cut out but is a P90,he calls it a P92 and they are great P90 pickups.Have installed some wound to old Gibson spec's and they were some of the best P90 pickups I have played.I also think that Matt could build there own version as I have heard his humbuckers and I have to say as someone who finds most humbuckers useless theres are just perfect.

The RS 2 looks like a beauty. Larrivee currently make a P90 as I am fortunate to possess the RS 4 P90 thus I would bet my last dollar a P90 RS 2 will soon follow. Their P90 is every bit as good in every way as their humbucker for those familiar with that.

For those familiar with the RS 4 it comes as no surprise that Larrivee is into the Electrics for the long haul, they are simply that good. Anyone buying an electric guitar IMHO with due respect are fools to not seriously look at a Larrivee RS.

Gotta have an RS 2 GASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are pretty aren't they :? And you know they are custom shop grade.   :guitar

HALLELUJAH!!!

And HOT D@#M!!!

(Sorry, couldn't help myself   ).

This is truly the best news since the RS-4...and YES, I will be ordering one, but - Jason, and other dealers (Jim at Trinity), please let Matthew know that some of us do want to order this one with the P-90's - it's a perfect spoiler to those G....n guits with hog body and P-90 pickups...

I'm ready...just say RS-2 P-90 and I'M ALL IN!!!

After all, I don't want my RS-4 to start gettin' lonely...  :laughin:

Rev - aka., "Mikeymac",

I hear you on "BEING IN LIKE FLINT" if Matt offeres the RS-2 with his P-90's! Man I haven't even gotten my
ROOTBEER RS-4 yet and here I am gassing over one of these ALL-HOG Larrivee's!I just feel strongly
that Matt will put his P-90's in the "MIX WITH THE RS-2's"! :thumb

Can't see him using someone else's pickups when he is building from scratch Larrivee's own in house
P-90 and HB pickups with his own custom designed pickup winder for the RS-4! :rolleye:

Matt told me in an e-mail that my RS-4 is getting close to being finished! He is suppose to send me
some pics of it later this week! :nana_guitar

Still no mention of the RS 2 on the Larrivee site  Gotta say their guitar making is a heck of a lot better than their marketing dept. ( Better than the other way around I suppose)!!!

Yep GAS has set in

For you strictly acoustics out there who might be on the fence - give an RS a try I know the 4 is really the cadilac of todays electric guitars and really at a steal of a price

Can't wait to get my hands on an RS 2  :nana_guitar

I know there was a group shot recently of some Larrivee Electrics & many of us noted the two guitars on the end were not RS 4's but that was pretty much all we knew. Any more pics of the RS 2 out there?
Title: Re: New Larrivee Electric Guitars Released
Post by: Mikeymac on March 11, 2010, 09:02:58 AM
Thought I'd go ahead and brings those pics over to this thread...

...I tried enlarging the pic of the two RS-2 prototypes, but it got too fuzzy ... so I guess we wait to see some more pics.

(I also included a couple shots of that very cool quilt mahogany topped RS-4 with gold hardware!)

I do have one other question: if the top is flat, does the back have the tummy cut, or is it also a 'slab' on the backside? Not a big deal, just curious. If they're following G....n tradition, probably flat, and that's also a cost cutting detail. Looks like they're using all the top notch hardware throughout, though...way to go!

The two in the photos look like the tobacco (left) and cherry.  I wonder what amber looks like on mahogany?  :?

Looking forward to more info on these ASAP!  Thanks to Jason for letting us know about these.

So...Jason (actually Matthew) said only those dealers who buy at least one RS-4 can order RS-2s ... that's what it takes to be considered a Larrivee electric dealer. SO my dealer ordered my lefty Rootbeer specifically for me...does that make them a 'Larrivee electric dealer'?

I think a lot of dealers will be interested in giving these RS-2s a try because of the excellent price - $1695 means many of them will be able to price them around 30% lower than that, or around $1199-1249 (don't know what 'MAP' will be, and I'm sure Jason can't post that here?).

I will definitely be pushing my dealer to give these a shot...they've seen how nice my RS-4 is, and they know how happy I am with it.

In doing a quick comparison to a Collings 290 electric (all hog, two P-90 pickups), the Collings is obviously a beautiful, well crafted instrument, but it also lists for $3,100; I saw it priced at $2,790 at one dealer in California. The Collings will no doubt be seen by many as a more sophisticated design with some flair missing in the Larrivee RS-2, but you can't ignore that it will cost around twice the price for that extra *bling* - you could have two RS-2s for the price (one w/P-90s, one with 'buckers if you so desire)! And in the tone/quality department, the Larrivee's pickups and hardware are a match for the Collings - no skimping there!

Gibson's prices are so ridiculous for their P-90 all hog models, and the quality is hit and miss (yes, there are some great ones, but also some dogs), the Larrivee is a no-brainer in comparison to the original! Unless, of course, you suffer from 'headstock-itis'.

Just did some comparison shopping between the RS-2 and some *similar* Gibsons...I tried to compare features to give you an idea how they compare in features and list price.
Here are the results:

Larrivee RS-2
open coil Larrivee design humbuckers
premium pots & capacitors
tune-o-matic bridge/stop tailpiece
bound neck, dots on fingerboard
deluxe hardshell case
List price: $1695

Gibson SG Classic
2 P-90 pickups
bound neck
tune-o-matic bridge/stop tailpiece
deluxe gigbag
List price: $1537

SG Special
open coil buckers
tune-o-matic/stop tailpiece
"multi-piece mahogany body" (!)
unbound one-piece neck
gigbag
List price: $1799

LP Junior single cut
1 P-90 pickup
thin body
unbound neck
wraparound one piece bridge
gigbag
List price: $1199

1960 LP Special Double Cutaway VOS
2 P-90 pickups
premium pots & capacitors
bound neck
wraparound one piece bridge
deluxe hardshell case
List price: $3527

1957 LP Junior Single Cut VOS
ONE P-90!!!
premium pots & capacitors (one of each ... ahem!)
unbound neck
wrap around one piece bridge
Deluxe case
List price: $3527

(there is also a Junior Double Cut VOS, same features and price as above)

Well, that about wraps it up...the Larrivee compares well to what Gibson is offering in similar dress. If you're a purist who has to have the headstock, or you're convinced that nitro lacquer = better tone, then go for the Gibsons...I like what the Larrivee brings to the gun fight!

Hey Rev,

Gotta throw this in that the POTS,CAPACITORS and PICKUPS on the GIBBY SG SPECIAL,SG CLASSIC
and LES PAUL SPECIAL are truly "PATHETIC" compared to the Larrivee RS-2's counterparts! So
those prices being fairly close are truly "Misleading" in comparison to the RS-2! :roll

I will ask my rep if there is any discussion about pickup choices in the RS-2.  Hopefully they will take the suggestion of P-90s to heart.  Maybe there is room for an RS-3 with P-90s?

No reason to do that, as the RS-4 model is available with either humbuckers or P-90's, without a model change.

The "RS-3" would have to be the ARCHTOP all mahogany model...

I'm going to be sending Matthew an e-mail asking if the P-90's are possible on this one; I'll report back what I find out.

EDITED TO ADD: E-mail sent.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>Drum Roll> P-90's!! :nanadance :nana_guitar!

He spoke with the Larrrivee Rep. that he orders his LEFTY LARRIVEE's from!
That's a "BIG OLE 10-4" their Larrivee Fans! :+1:

I think an Amber RS-2 with P-90's should be a sufficient match to go along with
my Rootbeer RS-4! Whadda Ya Think? :bgrin:

How about the rest of us? When did you start playing electric? Before acoustic? after?

I started playing electric in high school, about a year or so after starting on acoustic...this is around '71. But I didn't own a "good" electric in those days - although I did have a Music Man 210 amp for awhile in college ('77-'78 or so) - didn't keep it long - stupid me!

Kept playing acoustic over the years and dabbled in electric. Then around '95 I got serious about electric and built my own Warmoth lefty. That was the beginning of a whole new journey into tube amps, pedals, etc. I've since built another 6-7 lefty Warmoths, including a right-handed Tele for my son's high school graduation present last year. It's a sickness, I tell you! But I love it.

I've owned quite a few different electrics over the past 15 years, including an '05 American Standard Strat, and a '98 Heritage 535 (335 clone); don't have either of them anymore. But the RS-4 is the nicest electric I've ever owned - also the most expensive. But it IS worth EVERY PENNY! It's a keeper; like my Larrivee acoustics!

My RS-4 is easily the best electric guitar I have ever owned and simply as good as any I've played. I think there is an RS-2 with P-90s lurking in my future. "Hey, honey! Look! Another guitar." Oh well, she loves me and drives a new car while I drive one that was built in '95.

Pardon an newby question, but what is the difference between Larrivee's  P-90 and Humbucker pickup's sound ?
I just read wickipedia on P-90 and Humbucker so I understand single vs. dbl coil (60hz noise cancelling) but would guess that Larrivee would use a single variation that is also hum-cancelling. Thus what is the sound difference, pro/con, etc.,  between the two Larrivee designs ? - Thanks in advance.   :donut :donut :donut :coffee

I am in complete agreement. My RS-4  renewed my love of the guitar. I was/am thinking about an RS-4 P90 but will wait until I try a RS-2 P90. I ride an old touring bike to work daily while my wife drives the new car so I don't think there will be much of a problem with one more guitar lurking in the corner.

I was thinking about this today at work and well..... a guitar you love the sound and feel of, you keep for years if not decades. Averaging out the extra cost of a RS-4 over ten years over the cost of a RS-2 is about $1.95 per week, depending on the deal you strike with a retailer . A carved maple top and the extra care and attention to electronics is worth the extra dollars to me.
That said, the RS-2 looks like a great guitar for the price. I just like the maple top. My dream guitar would be a RS-4 Goldtop P90 with a maple neck.

To each his own - can't fault you for wanting the top of the line.

I'm not too worried about the RS-2 having inferior electronics or hardware - looks like they'll be as nice as the RS-4's.

P-90's tend to be less bassy than a humbucker, and may have a more pronounced midrange bite that sounds good overdriven. But they're a lot thicker sounding than a typical Fender single coil. Some people love their tone, some don't. Like lots of guitar related stuff, they're pretty versatile once you learn how to handle 'em!

P-90's were Gibson's original electric guitar pickup before Seth Lover came up with the side by side coil design that 'bucked the hum'. So all those old jazz and blues guys were using P-90's for years before humbuckers came along in '56-'57 or so...

Thanks Mikeymac , I think then I might be safe just trusting Larrivee to do a good sounding guitar with either pickup style and I would not initially be able to tell the difference greatly. Starting with a Larrivee acoustic after a 40 year hiatus has spoiled me for other brands.

I'm thinking that one of the main differences between the RS-4 and 2 will be weight. I love my RS-4 but it suffers from the Les Paul syndrome. It's eight pounds. Doesn't sound like much until you have it hanging around your neck for an hour or so. The RS-2 without the maple cap should be more like a strat or a perhaps a junior.

Hey Ducktrapper,

Just for the records! I had a "GORGEOUS LES PAUL STANDARD" in Heritage Cherry Sunburst that I just traded to
get my Rootbeer RS-4 and it was chambered and still weighed about 7.5 lbs. To me it felt very light and an
extra 1/2 lb. to my thought process will be a minimal weight increase for the RS-4!

I should have my RS-4 by Friday this week! :nanadance :nana_guitar :beer

Some LP's - especially those 'sandwich' jobs from the mid/late '70s - '80s - could weigh lots more; 10/11 lbs. wasn't uncommon, and 12 or 13 lbs. were also seen. My Larrivee doesn't feel any heavier than my ash bodied Strats ... and I have a cheap Rondo/SX Tele that is heavier than the RS-4 (the body's a BRICK, but it has a surprisingly wonderful bridge pickup tone - amazing for such a cheapy!).

Look forward to your full tone review, when you get your Rootbeer, Mac!  :+1:

(Have to throw in a pic or two of my cheapy SX Tele - moded, of course!)

The ones in those pics were the initial "show" models, I believe. They're working on the actual first "production run" of RS-2s right now (humbucker versions, I believe), and I have no idea how many are in the initial production run, or when they will ship.

I assume some P-90 models will be next...I'm waiting for a lefty P-90 version.

If you're serious about getting one of these, I'd contact one of the Larrivee dealers who have stocked the RS-4 and ask if they have (or can get) more detailed info than this. They can make a phone call to Larrivee's distributor and get better information, I suspect.

I sent an e-mail to Jerry's Lefty Guitars ... he has 2-3 lefties coming in in the next week or two. Told him I'm very interested, and want to see pics of the individual guitars before I commit on color (he's got an amber and cherry P-90 on order, plus possibly one more P-90, and one humbucker version, too).

I'll let you know when I hear something...but I'm pretty serious about putting one on layaway - then you have 3 months to pay for it. Don't know MAP or anything yet.

Larrivee seems pretty willing to try options on these, so even the Bigsby might get approval.

Jerry's has coming in was requested by me! I've already made arrangements to have her

Matthew called  me Sunday and told me he was sending me pictures of the Amber RS-2 that they had
just finished painting it and I believe the other Lefty RS-2's that were in this first "BUILD" run! :nana_guitar

When I got my rootbeer burst, I was ready to go with the traditional 3-color tobacco burst, or even a charcoal burst (which has opaque black back and neck). I wasn't picky (the only one I don't like is good ol' cherry burst!), and I don't have my heart set on any one particular color/shade of RS-2 now...I know they're all going to be great guitars, so I'm just excited that there are some lefties with P-90's in production already!  :thumbsup

This has been quite the year for Larrivees at my house, the RS-4, a Forum IV 00-03 coming in the next week or two, and likely the RS-2 before long...

...but I held off for many, many years after getting my first in '92; my next one (for me) wasn't until 2003 (L-09, later sold), then 2007 (D-03R), now all these new ones!  :arrow

I hear you REV! I have purchased more guitars in the last year than I ever have
at any time as well! I got a new amp the other day and it is truly a "SWISS ARMY
KNIFE AMP" all wrapped up in the coolest oversized lunchbox head that you will
ever see!

It is the Mesa Boogie Transatlantic T15! It has 2 separate channels (channel 1 has
a British Clean and a Top-BOOST mode for 2 different voicings and channel 2 has
3 voicings in American Clean,H1-Tweed/Marshall Crunch and H2 is Boogie high gain
lead)!

This amp isn't much bigger than an oversized LUNCHBOX but it delivers more flexibility
and tones than I have seen in any dual channel amp in a longtime! Oh Yeah! I
almost left out the most important features on the amp: It has 5/15/25 watt
settings on both channels and I am here to tell you it absolutely romps in the 15 and
25 watt settings! Channels are footswitchable so footswitch is included as well as
the coolest "SOFT GIG BAG" that nestles this diminuitive 12 lb. tone machine!

You haven't seen a cooler looking amp anywhere! I promise! Here is the link to
Mesa's website for you to read all about the TRANSATLANTIC! It is absolutely
giggable in the 25 watt mode and for extremely small clubs I believe the 15 watt
setting would easily get the job done! The 5 watt setting is purely for nightime
playing at home/bedroom levels!

Introductory price is $899! A lot of "GREAT TONES" packed into an amp that you
can take anywhere with you and instantly have multiple tones at 3 power settings
all footswitchable! :beer

I've been reading about the Transatlantic, sounds very cool, and has lots of features at an amazing price (for a Boogie).

I'm not real big on Boogie's signature "saturated" tone...does this sound different than the typical Boogie tone? (The only Boogies I've really liked in the past were the Maverick, the Blue Angel and the Subway Blues.)

Thanks for the review.
Title: Re: New Larrivee Electric Guitars Released
Post by: macsmojado on April 17, 2010, 12:33:19 AM
Rev,

How coincedental is that! I owned a Subway Blues 1X12 Combo and a Maverick 2X12 combo
several years back! Both were really "NICE SOUNDING" amps and I sorely miss both of them!
The BlUE ANGEL was also a killer amp for playing "BLUES,BLUES ROCK and CLASSIC ROCK"!

The H2 setting on channel 2 is not the typical "RECTIFIER" heavy crunch that you are thinking
about! It is more on the smoother side "BOOGIE OVERDRIVE" think Carlos Santana with your
RS-4!

Rev definitely go and audition this "KILLER LIL 12 LB. BOOGIE"! It will really change your mind
about what a small 2 channel amp can deliver with cleverly voiced settings like the British Clean
and TOP-Boost modes in channel 1 and the American Fender Clean,H1 and H2 settings on
channel 2!

If you play this amp spend some time with it and pay particular attention to the BASS and TREBLE
controls as they are very responsive and make a huge difference in the tone of the Transatlantic
especially when you are playing on the higher gain channels in channel 2 as well as the TOP-BOOST
setting on channel 1 or when you have the gain controls kicked on up on any setting!

You gotta hear the 15 watt mode with the TOP-BOOST voicing engaged on Channel 1! It is
"Inspiring" and really nails the sound of an AC15 with the TOP-BOOST engaged with a STRAT
or TELE!

I gotta tell you my RS-4 is "SYRUPY SWEET" through the "LIL BOOGIE"! Take yours with you if
you are going to go play the TRANSATLANTIC! :guitar

I seriously doubt their will be any reduction on the TA-15 given that all the
BOOGIE dealers are selling them as soon as they come in the door! The
amp just started hitting the dealers a little over a month ago!

I've got money burning a hole in my pocket just waiting for one of these!  I have about half of the MAP price on hand, so it will go on layaway until I can scratch up the rest ... but I'm getting antsy! I almost blew some of this $$ on something else last week! Whew, that was close!  Then I came to my senses and said, "Brand X, or Larrivee?" I've only ever played with one of the Taylor electrics - it had their mini humbucker style pickups on it, I think. Played with it through a nice tube amp, and, while the guitar was well built, the tone was nothing special...pretty ho-hum, to my ears. I'll stick with my Larrivee/s and my Warmoth builds.

Jerry's has also received a couple of the new Collings P-90 guitars in lefty...they look nice, but they're also more than double the price of the Larrivees! One is around $2300; the other (with a lefty Bigsby) is around $2450 (these are street price; the Larrivee should be around $1,100-1,200 street, from what I've seen already).

I'm thinking the Larrivees will be a smokin' deal in comparison! (Not knocking the Collings - wouldn't mind having one; but I don't think the Larrivees will be lacking anything in comparison.)

I guess Larrivee just isn't charging enough ... but I'm not gonna tell 'em that!

I suspect one of the reasons it's taking so long to get OUR/MY RS-2s done (I say "my" because I have put down a serious deposit on one) is because some of the Larrivee folks have been out on the road doing guitar shows, with Chicago being the most recent.  Maybe when that's over, production will pick up again?

I'm trying to be patient...waiting, waiting, waiting...

Anyone make it to the Chicago show or was everyone too busy watching the Blackhawks :?

Well there's some discussion over in the main (acoustic) forum about Larrivee closing their Oxnard plant - immediately, is what it sounds like. And of course, that's where our electrics are being made! So now I'm beginning to understand why guitars that were supposed to be done a couple weeks ago are still AWOL.

No word yet on whether Larrivee will stay stateside at another location, or if all production will go back to Canada. I don't care which it is, but I hope they'll continue to build electrics, and I wish them success and the best of luck as they move (moves are tough).

As I said in that thread, California has become very unfriendly toward business, so I can't blame them for finally getting out. There's no way they could continue to sell these guitars at this pricepoint with the California restrictions, taxes, and regulations (expecially regarding paints / guitar finishes and air quality) constantly bearing down on them.

Best of luck, everyone!  :thumbsup

Wow! That's a bummer!

I didn't know that California was that tough on their "AIR QUALITY" laws for
GUITAR company's! Matthew sent me this short e-mail on Friday:

Hi Mac,

Im workin on it, Jean and wendy are out of town so I'm on my own right
now and overwhelmed. I'll see what I can do. I saw the guitar in
fretting just a day or two ago so it should be ready to ship next week.

Hopefully Jerry Welch will have our RS-2's be the end of next week or the
first of the following week! :cheers

Mac

The Oxnard moving was just B/S with things being taken out of context combined with some having a little information and jumping to conclusions based on their own perceptions.Sometimes a little knowledge is dangerous without having full access to all the information that Larrivee management would have.

On a more positive note my amber RS 2 is In Transit and should be touching down in Nova Scotia at the end of this week or beginning of next pending on our good friends at Canada Post

I promise Pics upon it's arrival

JOYCEfromNS,

I didn't know that you had your name in the pot for one of the RIGHTY RS-2's in AMBER! I
guess Me and You will have the matching pair of LEFTY/RIGHTY RS-2's in Amber! :beer

Glad to hear your comments in regards to everyone getting their "FEATHERS ALL RUFFLED"
about the OXNARD-MOVE!

You better send some pics of your AMBER RS-2 or your gonna be in the "DOGHOUSE"!

Nice to know our guitars are (...still...) in process...of course, that just means I've got to come up with the rest of the money for it!   :roll

Anyone else around here getting tired of waiting for these ... or is it just me?

C'mon, Larrivee, let's get these RS-2s done and out the door!

I made a $500 deposit on one of these with Jerry (I'm not blaming him) over a month ago, and was told it would be done in a week or two...I'm getting close to asking for my money back.

Rev,

I just sent this to Matthew! I hope you don't mind my referencing to your comments in your
post!

Matthew,

You are the Larrivee Rep for the U.S. needs to call Jerry Welch at Jerry's Lefty Guitars
and give him a "Definitive Time Frame" on when the RS-2's will be completed! Mike
McInnis (MikeyMac at the Larrivee Forum) posted that he was considering asking for
his "Deposit Money" back that he put down on an RS-2 from the "ORDER" that Jerry
Welch put in with Larrivee!

I understand their are setbacks but nobody has any idea or handle from a customer
or dealer's viewpoint on when these RS-2's will be completed and shipped out to
JERRY and the other dealers!

Hate to see satisfied Larrivee Customers start losing faith in Larrivee when it could be
avoided with some "BUILD TIME UPDATES" and acknowledgement of some unforseen
"PRODUCTION PROBLEMS" to keep the dealers and customers in "CHECK"!!

Sincerely,
Mac Baker

Matthew did send me this brief e-mail just yesterday:

Sent: Wednesday, June 09, 2010 10:27 AM
Subject: your guitar

Is just about done. Since it is the first lefty RS-2 we discovered that we had to make a new jig for drilling the switch wire cavity. CNC's are a little back up so hopefully it will be completed soon.

Matthew

Hopefully Matthew will step up and give Jerry Welch and the other dealers that have ordered Lefty RS-2's a call
with a "REALISTIC TIME FRAME UPDATE" on our RS-2's! :whistling:

HEY REV,

Just got this message from the man himself MATTHEW!

Hi Mac,

It's very difficult to predict exact ship dates – because it implies one specific thing that im not willing to do.. Sacrifice quality to meet a ship date. I won't ship an inferior instrument with my family's name on it. That being said, we are building the necessary jig in the AM tomorrow so we should be able to start final assembly sometime tomorrow and complete it on Monday/Tuesday... If all goes well yours, and the red one, should ship in that time frame.. However, should we need to do additional work (touch up buffing, eliminate a buzz, etc) we have to take the time to do it right.. know what I mean?

Matthew

You gotta feel good hearing this from Matthew! :bgrin:

Just another reason to reinforce that you are getting a "FIRST RATE BOUTIQUE QUALITY" instrument with
the RS-4's and RS-2's! :cheers

My RS 2 arrived Monday tho I have only returned late last nite ( been a long week) knowing what was sitting in an unopened box at home.

Really believe we are living in a fortunate time when the RS 4 and now the RS 2 is at a MSRP well below where it will be in the future. The quality and craftsmanship of these Gits will soon be discovered by the masses forcing prices to rise.

Will post Pics of my new RS 2 soon as sure does feel nice and balanced gotta say

Must ... hold ... on ...
